Dad's house

Here is Dad's house in Alollo Beach. Dad designed and built it, and it is very close to the open water (Tampa Bay). The house is unbelievably big and quite wonderful. A small army could live there, but it is just Dad and Betty, and of course the rest of the family whenever he can get us there.

Manatees and Alligators

These are examples of Florida's magical wildlife that we have seen over the last two days. Manatees, alligators, river otters, and sting rays delight us. We live two blocks from the bay where many of these creatures swim. The river otters and alligators are in neighboring parks.

Sailing Today

We went sailing today with Mirriam Fendt (Guy's sister who is visiting from Connecticut) and Kyle and Ethan. We all went to Dad's for lunch, then went for a wonderful sail. Winds were steady and the weather was cool and perfect. Before arriving at Dad's, we went to a manatee viewing area and saw 30+ manatees along with several species of sting rays, shark, tarpon, and mullet. What a wonderful time. Mirriam has to leave tomorrow, but her visit was wonderful!

Where's Katie?

We need pictures of our lovely Katie! Here she is :) We all went to a neat music concert in downtown tampa.

More on Matt and Busch and fishing

Only five pictures allowed per blog! Here are more!

Busch Gardens and fishing with Matt

Guy and I took Matty to Busch Gardens when he came to visit. I couldn't let Matt outdo me, so the two of us did all the scary roller coasters. We couldn't get Guy to join us. Maybe when he turns 60.... :):)

My dad also took us fishing. We didn't catch much, but we sure had a great time in the beautiful Florida weather and water.

Louisiana trip

We went to New Orleans. Had a swamp tour with Guy's cousin who lives there, and enjoyed the city on our own as well.

Vegetable garden

The frogs were out in force, in the garden and on the patio.

Robert Lee told us that if we wanted to have a vegetable garden, we needed to plant it no later than the new moon. He said we could have three gardens a year in Florida! So in the beginning of October, we rototilled, fertilized, and planted seeds and small plants.

Guy's Halloween Pumpkin

There is art in pumpkin carving. This one looked very scary. He promises next year's will be even scarier.

Sweden's funny words!

We discovered the Swedes have some funny words!

And at times they put their funny words with funny pictures!

Sweden and Finland Trip

Many neat scenes in Finland too.

Neat trip, but cold. We visited many nice people, and they even LIKE Americans! We ate reindeer (they are grown for this reason like cattle), and now own a reindeer pelt!

Welcome to Guy's and Carol's blog!

Inspired by Cheri M, we decided to begin creating a blog space as a sort of diary. If it were New Years, we might pledge to keep the space up on a regular basis. Since it's not, we'll just do our best :)
